When we launched this challenge, I asked for a short biography from any other of my fellow team members as I felt I could not write about me – I choose do this crazy stuff simply because I love it. Emma, who works with me and has signed up to be our fourth Rickshaw team ‘Team Tatum’ with her mum, announced she would write my piece – so here goes. Its very interesting how others see you!
“What can I say about Helen that hasn’t already been said? I first met her last year when my Mum and I ventured into her shop in Steyning. Immediately we felt a good energy radiating around us. Helen was so welcoming and I felt a connection to her straight away, so much so that she ended up giving me a job!
“She is feisty, energetic, inspiring and such a role model to me. She approaches everything with spirit, determination and an unbending dedication, and she gets things done. She has faced many challenges in her lifetime, but she’s overcome them in her own indomitable way. There is no mountain (or airplane!) she won’t climb to achieve her goals.
“This is especially true of her patronage of Safe in Sussex. She is tireless in her fund raising endeavours for such an essential and worthwhile cause. She looks you straight in the eye and tells it like it is. Underpinning all this, is a heart full of compassion and hope. She’s very hard to say no to, so we didn’t, and Mum and I are so thrilled to be part of next year’s Rickshaw Challenge! Bring it on!!”
