To complement our ‘mum and son’ team, we now have a ‘mum and daughter’ team – Team Tatum – Deb T and her daughter Emma, who is part of the Sakala family as she works with us in the shop and many other projects that we get involved with.
Deb says:
“I am so looking forward to next year. I have travelled extensively in the past but the last few years have been distinctly lacking in adventure, so it’s about time we had another one!
“When Emma spoke to her Dad and me about it, we all agreed that it would be a fantastic thing to do. Her Dad, Kelvin, would love to come, but at the moment it’s too early to say if he will be able to make it, so for now it’s just me and Emma flying the flag for Sakala and Safe in Sussex.
“I have never been to India before so I’m thrilled to be finally going there and to be experiencing all the sights and sounds it has to offer with my lovely daughter. We both like driving but a tuk tuk is a whole different ball game! It’s going to be epic and I’m sure there will be such laughter along the way, together with memories that will last a lifetime.”
And Emma says:
“I have wanted to go to India for some time now. I feel drawn to it and have a strong feeling that I am going to absolutely fall in love with it. I am sure that this will be the beginning of many more trips in the future. I love to travel and spent some time living abroad before I came back to the UK. To experience the culture and history of such a fascinating country will be an amazing education, not to mention the fun we will all have!
“I am especially looking forward to doing this with my Mum; we love spending time together and this will be no exception. I am hoping that my Dad will be able to join us but if he can’t, we will still make it special.
Safe in Sussex is such an important charity, so to have this opportunity to raise funds and have a unique experience is something I am so looking forward to, can’t wait for next year!
